Technical Content Marketer

Remote (US)

Apply now

Role

Expo's audience reads code before it reads copy. This role writes the content that meets developers where they search, ask, and learn: tutorials, guides, blog posts, sample apps, and the problem-first explainers in our education hub. You build every example yourself, on real devices, against the current SDK, and nothing ships until it runs.

This role is Remote (US). You will sit in marketing, report to the Head of Marketing, and work day to day with DevRel, the docs team, product, and the engineers who ship EAS. Your work is measured the way the rest of go-to-market is: by the signups, EAS activation, and top-of-funnel pipeline that start with something you published.

What you’ll do

  • Ship hands-on technical content every week. Case Studies, how-to guides, migration guides, comparison pages, and blog posts about building mobile apps with AI and Expo.
  • Own the education hub content plan. Write the problem-first explainers developers and answer engines look for (what React Native is, how cross-platform mobile development works, how over-the-air updates work, how to set up mobile CI/CD) and route readers to the right Expo product.
  • Turn SEO and AEO findings into content. Use our query-to-content gap analysis and AEO working docs to decide what to write, structure pages so search engines and LLMs cite them, and keep top pages fresh.
  • Contribute content for launches. For every release of a new service we build a Bill of Materials with many pieces of content on it. We need you to be able to own the execution of some of that content. Depending on your technical depth that could be a getting-started guide, a launch post, or several case studies. You will plan these with product marketing and the engineers building the feature, and you will hit the rough edges before our users do.
  • Write with engineers. Draft video scripts and outlines with Expo engineers and DevRel for YouTube tutorials and launch walkthroughs, and turn conference talks into blog posts.
  • Close the gap between docs and real use. Work with the docs team on docs-adjacent guides, and send the doc bugs and product friction you find back to the right team.
  • Tie content to outcomes. Put a tracked CTA on every piece, report signups, product adoption, and influenced pipeline in HubSpot with Klaire (demand and performance), and use that data to choose what to write next.

What you’ll bring

  • You build with Expo. You have some experience building an app with Expo. Everyone here is a builder.
  • 3+ years writing technical content for developers (tutorials, guides, docs, or technical blog posts), with a public portfolio.
  • You can demonstrate an understanding of how SEO works for developer content, and of how LLMs and answer engines choose which sources to cite.
  • You have used data to decide what to write, and you can connect a post to signups.
  • You use AI tools every day and can talk specifically about where they help and where they get things wrong.
  • Plain, precise writing. You cut words and keep the ones that matter.

Nice to have

  • You have shipped an app to the App Store or Google Play.
  • Video experience: on camera, screen recording, or scripting for YouTube.
  • Experience building with LLM APIs, MCP, or agent tooling.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot, Sanity, or SEO tools such as Semrush or Ahrefs.

How we work and why Expo

  • Small team, real ownership. Everyone at Expo works on something important because the team is small and does a lot. The go-to-market team is small and fast, and you will own your work end to end.
  • Everyone is a builder. We expect you to use AI tools (Claude Code, Codex, or similar) to speed up your own work and the team's, including wiring up APIs and small workflows yourself.
  • Our values: build developer trust, ship and improve, flexible primitives, and make it work.
  • Our GTM principles: land with the developer and expand with the executive, master the product and champion the customer, let feedback drive strategy, nail the fundamentals, and treat every touchpoint (docs, decks, posts) as a chance to earn trust.
  • Reach. Millions of people use apps made with Expo every day, and when we improve Expo, hundreds of thousands of developers benefit.
  • Remote-friendly and flexible. We are a distributed team that works mostly during North American hours. We care about outcomes, not 9-to-5 hours.
