Product Manager

We are looking for a product manager who can drive product development across multiple surfaces, working autonomously to ship features that delight developers, customers, and millions of end users.

Expo is a unique product management challenge since we have a variety of surfaces and stakeholder needs to balance. They include website features, documentation, CLIs, account permissions, billing, pricing, developer tools for multiple platforms, and more.

As a Product Manager at Expo, you will work closely with engineering, design, marketing, and sales to have an outsized impact on the future of app development.

Responsibilities

As a product manager, you will:

  • Write detailed product specifications and organize engineering teams to deliver features and improvements.
  • Talk to users and customers regularly to understand their needs to validate/alter product plans.
  • Collaborate with engineers across the team to scope technical feasibility and implementation approaches.
  • Partner with marketing and sales to clearly explain product problems, benefits, and features.
  • Use data and user feedback to make informed prioritization decisions and measure product success.
  • Work autonomously and self-direct your work, identifying opportunities and driving initiatives forward.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of product management experience, ideally in technical or developer-facing products.
  • Strong technical fluency with the ability to understand and discuss tradeoffs with engineers. Some coding ability or familiarity with development workflows is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Self-driven and autonomous, able to identify problems and drive solutions without constant direction.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to make decisions with incomplete information.

Qualities that make you a good fit

  • Ability to think from first principles and break down complex problems into manageable pieces.
  • Obsessed with the details and edge cases that allow developers and their teams to get the most value from our products.
  • Understand a spectrum of user needs, from developers to enterprise customers.
  • Experience with pricing/billing products or B2B SaaS is a plus.
  • Ability to contribute React/TypeScript/Markdown changes directly is a plus.
